DOUBLE BASS
I was first inspired and fell in love with the double bass after seeing Les Claypool of Primus perform "Over The Falls" on electric double bass at the Loreley Festival (on VHS) and after hearing Charles MIngus's bass Intro on the album MingusMingusMingusMingusMingus. Almost ignoring finishing school I brought the school's double bass to the luthier and the journey began, more in love than I ever will be with a woman. Lessons with Ralph Pompe and Gunnar Plümer in Bonn, Wim Essed, Marius Beets, Stefan Lievestro in Rotterdam (official jazz double bass study) and masterclass in Liechtenstein in 2017 with Stefan Lievestro. ELECTRIC BASS
The Electric Bass was a way for me to switch from violin to a "cooler" instrument as a young teen. As there were no drum teachers at the school auditions I started lessons with Martin Schlu in Bonn. Later on I switched to Wendel Biskup who introduced me to the double bass and ushered me towards my first double bass teacher. For almost 20 years I have been following regular lessons in jazz theory and electric bass with composer, jazz guitarist and author Johannes Hitschfel, Bonn, which actually have resulted in a private form of music academy. Music Therapy Studies
UPDATE: TRAININC COMPLETED!
Since 2019 I have been following a course in Music Therapy at the Institute for Relaxation Techniques in Cologne (IEK). With a great group of people we are delving into the inner self and the practice, learning drum rhythms, theory and therapist-client excercises. I most essentially use my newly-gained experiences in my work with young people, music lessons and band groups, btw also refugees since beginning of 2020. This vocational development has increased my appreciation of being a performer and teacher as well. UPDAT |
